I am a wife and mother of 3 beautiful boys; Theodore, Lincoln, and Benjamin. I am a full time student in culinary school for pastry arts to broaden my horizons and perfect the craft of mouthwatering sweets. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and going on fun adventures. I started baking for my kids birthday's, trying to make cute birthday cakes, that is when I fell in love with baking and decided to make it a full-time career after being a stay-at-home mom for the last 4 years.
When we found out about Lincoln's diagnosis, it was a shock to the system and full panic set in as well realized (at the time) his life expectancy was only 44. Our biggest fear, like most parents, is that we would out live our son.
Thanks to technology and scientific advancements his life expectancy has increased.
However, there is still no cure. We still don't know how much damage his body can, and will, endure from the long term effects of having CF. That is why we started to Bake For A Cure! It is our mission to make CF stand for CURE FOUND!
I am a wife, mother of 2, and grandmother of 3. My grandchildren call me "Mamo". It's the informal Irish name for grandmother. I went to Le Cordon Bleu Culinary school (a long time ago) and I am thrilled to share this experience and craft with my daughter. I love nothing more than to spoil those 3 amazing boys! I love to cook, go on adventures, and spend time with my family.
When Lincoln was diagnosed with CF we were all stunned. Major life changes happened immediately. Including us all moving from Phoenix to Houston specifically for The Texas Children's Hospital.
Since then, I have had the honor and privilege of working with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter. I am proud to be a Grampion Co-Chair & Cystic Fibrosis Congressional Advocacy Captain for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Together Alexis & I are working to help fight for Lincoln and so many others like him.
Until it's done!
